Day 8 of 14 Day Food Challenge + Jonas' Birthday Celebration

Starting week 2! Can't believe it's Sunday already. Where did Saturday go? Guess I was just busy then tired all day.

Well, changed up breakfast! Jonas cooked eggs with leftover grilled chicken. We added cheese and salsa and made a burrito. Here is mine before I wrapped it up.
2 eggs, 70 calories; chicken, 120 calories; 2 tablespoons of salsa, 10 calories; 1/4 cup of cheddar cheese, 110 calories; 1 burrito, 150 calories. Glass of skim milk - 80 calories
Total: 610

I then decided I needed more hostas in my new gardening area, so went to Lowe's and got 4 more small ones and planted them in the blazing 12:30 pm heat. Then came in and had a Lean Cuisine Margherita Chicken Pizza. 340 Calories. Probably burned about 185 calories while gardening (according to Myplate.com)

While I was outside working in the yard, my neighbor came by and insisted I cool off in her pool when I was finished, and I certainly took her up on that offer! According to myplate.com, that was about 200 calories.

Jonas' birthday is on June 15th, and since that is a Tuesday this year and he will be in class until 9:30 or so, we had a family birthday shrimp boil! I forgot to take a picture of the before, but here is a picture of the leftovers....
 I probably had close to 3/4 of a pound of shrimp (about 336 calories), 1 ear of corn (about 115 calories), 1 red potato with butter (200 calories), and a piece of this delicious cookie cake (about 580 calories)!
 
Oh yeah, and I had 3 Budweisers in a can, @ 145 calories EACH....435 in beer. 
Total for Shrimp boil - 1,666.

A lot higher than I would like, however, if I weren't counting calories, I probably would have had more cookie cake and another beer or two. Granted, I did not come home feeling like a beached whale so all is good!

  1. You forgot to subtract your calories burned while gardening!! You did better than you thought, by a little anyway.

  2. I got the gardening. I think I included it in the lunch total for 155, which was the lean cuisine minus gardening. :)
